Amy Smart was an American model and actress. Born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modeling career there. She made her acting debut in 1996, when she appeared in The TV production Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land the role for Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. It was a hard time for her to transition between modeling and acting because the models were never thought of as actors and tended to be granted smaller, insignificant roles. Amy never gave up. Her first roles were in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. After a while Amy made the jump to more prominent roles. The film she starred in was the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy achieved the fame she had been searching for for more than 10 years when her film, Just Friends was released. She then worked on many of the greatest films including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless, where she portrayed a character who remained in the spotlight for a long time.
