Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is the name of a Canadian actress. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was as Flora McGrath. For this role, she won an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in The romantic drama The Piano at the young age of eleven. She was the second youngest winner in Oscar history. In response to an audition call to play the character, she got it as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who moved from Scotland to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. It was her first role at the age of nine and had no previous experience as an actor. She moved to the United States as a teen. Paquin appeared as Jane Eyre's main character when she was a teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and the lead role for the character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of the novel by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding and also played a part as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The role she played was for teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). She portrayed the role of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
