Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on Jan. 19. 1946 to a humble family of 12 children at one point, realized that she was able to escape her hardships through a imaginative mind. Before she could read or write she wrote her own songs. When she was 8, she got her first electric guitar and began to sing at a Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The following time, Gold Band Records was an independent label. Her name was made in the local scene while in high school, however she always dreamed of having a bigger stage. The day after she graduated in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time was searching for a female singer for his show. Parton was offered the gig in 1967 signed to RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. Parton left the show however, in 1974 due to her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton, after the split of their relationship with Wagoner she wrote the song"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and made it to the top spot at No. In 1974, Parton's song I Will Always Love You reached No.
