Kelly Clarkson is an American singer and songwriter who became the nation's sweetheart after winning the American Idol title on Season 1 of the reality show. The win has not just made her an international star, but resulted in a deal with several albums through RCA Records 19 Recordings as and 'S Records. Her subsequent releases include a variety of recordings from her studio. The three albums reached the US Billboard 200 chart, and others were just a hair short of it. Her name is among the most popular artists to have sprung from The American Idol series. She began to experiment as she achieved success with various themes and music styles, and often wrote the songs herself. The singer received critical acclaim as well as several prestigious awards in recognition of her uniqueness and vocal talent. One of her most memorable achievements is when she took home 3 Grammy awards. Apart from her music career she has been featured in films as well as television programs. She also wrote the book for children River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and has been involved in various charities.
